The Role of a Communication Support Worker (CSW)

CSW’S support individuals to access information and communicate with others. We work along side other specialist teams whether be in education, employment or legal settings.

The role of a CSW can vary, depending on the needs of the individual they are supporting. This can include:

  • Helping individuals with understanding and producing written materials

  • Adapting learning materials to enable the individual to understand more clearly

  • Suggesting ways the environment can be improved to make it easier for the individual they are supporting
